"The Uninvited" from 1 - 3 pm (May show) Cast of 4m, 6w "Plaza Suite" from 3 - 5 pm (July show) Cast of 7m, 5w Please prepare to read from the script. Terri Brockmann is thrilled to be directing the spring’s thriller, The Uninvited. Based on Dorothy Macardle’s novel, the play is a true ghost story come to life on the stage. It is set in Connecticut in the early 1940s where a brother and sister purchase Cliff End, a home that comes complete with paranormal activities. Filled with special effects, plot twists and an array of dynamic characters, The Uninvited is an exciting challenge for Brockmann. “It’s not often one gets the opportunity to direct a play that has both a rich, dramatic ensemble cast and such a unique plot. I am really eager for our actors and our audiences to be swept away by this spine tingling story of suicide, infidelity, dark secrets and murder.” Donna Polichetti is very excited to be directing Neil Simon’s comedy “Plaza Suite”. The play is 3 separate acts all taking place in Suite 719 of New York City’s Plaza Hotel. In the first act, a couple tries to revisit their honeymoon suite to bring the love back into their marriage. Does it work? The second act is a meeting between a movie producer and his former flame now a suburban housewife. Will she give in to the Hollywood mogul? The third act is a hilarious attempt by the parents of the bride to get their nervous daughter to come out of the bathroom and get married. What lengths will they go to in order to walk her down the aisle? * * * * * * * * * * May 14 and 15 "The Drowsy Chaparone" from 7 - 9 pm Cast of 10m, 7f Please prepare a song (so bring your sheet music) and be ready to dance and complete a cold reading from the script. If there is a part you are interested in, or you simply have a desire to experience the audition process, we invite you to come out and be seen. It’s not wise to assume that you’ll be remembered from past auditions. If you have auditioned for us before but have not been cast, don't let that hold you back. Newcomers are encouraged to attend as well. Quite often folks we have never met before win leads because they are the right person for the part. Our recent seasons have welcomed many new faces to our stage, many in leading roles! Also note that in some cases we have been able to obtain waivers allowing members of Actors Equity to share their talents with us on stage. All parts are open. CT-MWP does not pre-cast. We urge everyone to audition, and we are grateful to have as much interaction as possible with you as an actor. As Beverly Sills said, "You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try."
Technical and other positions...
CTMWP is an all-volunteer company, and we are grateful to all those who
participate both in front and behind the curtain.
There is something for everyone to do as long as the spirit is
willing! There are a
multitude of administrative tasks that must be done to keep any
organization afloat, numerous facility improvement projects year-round,
and of course the crew needed for each of our productions.
Certainly the majority of our participants are interested in
acting, but we are fortunate to have a devoted core of "techies" as well
- but more are always needed.
No matter what your talents are, if you're willing to help , we
know of something you can do to help.
Just call the Box Office at (845) 294-9465 and we'll be glad to
help you help us!
