Upcoming 2008 audition information... February 23rd and 24th “Murder Among Friends” from 1 to 3pm and “The Prisoner of Second Avenue” from 3 to 5pm May 12th and 13th “Pippin” from 7 to 9pm. Why audition... If there is a part you are interested in, or you simply have a desire to experience the audition process, we invite you to come out and be seen. It’s not wise to assume that you’ll be remembered from past auditions. If you have auditioned for us before but have not been cast, don't let that hold you back. Newcomers are encouraged to attend as well. Quite often folks we have never met before win leads because they are the right person for the part. Our 2007 season welcomed many new faces to our stage, many in leading roles! Also note that in some cases we have been able to obtain waivers allowing members of Actors Equity to share their talents with us on stage. All parts are open. CT-MWP does not pre-cast. We urge everyone to audition, and we are grateful to have as much interaction as possible with you as an actor. As Beverly Sills said, "You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try." Other audition details... You need only attend one day of auditions for any particular show. See below for cast breakdowns. Prepared monologues are not needed. For the musical audition in May, a prepared musical selection (not necessarily from the show) is suggested. In some cases, a brief dance audition is also required. Auditions for “Misery” will be announced later in the season. PLEASE CALL THE BOX OFFICE AT (845) 294-9465 FOR MORE INFO AND ON THE DAY OF AUDITIONS TO CONFIRM TIME AND PLACE. Cast breakdown... The "Murder Among Friends" cast includes: Ted - an outgoing young man; Angela - rich, scheming, and five years older than Ted; Palmer – husband to Angela, an aging, exceedingly vain actor; Gert – friendly middle-aged neighbor; Marshall – Gert’s husband, proper and stiff; Larry – Young, abrupt, forceful. "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" cast includes: Mel – average, middle-aged guy turned dejected malcontent; Edna – Mel’s wife, sympathetic to hysterical to strong; Harry – Mel’s older brother, concerned, hopeful, inadequate; Pauline – Mel’s sister, frugal and transparent; Jessie – Mel’s sister, constant crier; Pearl – Mel’s sister, fuzzy, forgetful. The "Pippin" cast of 20 to 22 includes: Leading Player — The narrator and guide for Pippin and the band of players; Pippin — The earnest, attractive, and naďve son of Charlemagne who is searching for meaning in his life after recently graduating college; Berthe — Pippin's irreverent, energetic and saucy grandmother; Catherine — An attractive widow who falls in love with Pippin; Charles — The imposing and magnetic Holy Emperor of Rome; Fastrada — The conniving stepmother of Pippin and mother of Lewis; Lewis — The vain, idiotic, and ambitious half-brother of Pippin; Soldiers, beggars, nobles, and assorted peasants form the chorus. Technical and other positions...
CTMWP is an all-volunteer company, and we are grateful to all those who
participate both in front and behind the curtain.
There is something for everyone to do as long as the spirit is
willing! There are a
multitude of administrative tasks that must be done to keep any
organization afloat, numerous facility improvement projects year-round,
and of course the crew needed for each of our productions.
Certainly the majority of our participants are interested in
acting, but we are fortunate to have a devoted core of "techies" as well
- but more are always needed.
No matter what your talents are, if you're willing to help , we
know of something you can do to help.
Just call the Box Office at (845) 294-9465 and we'll be glad to
help you help us!
