Murder, mystery, intrigue,  romance … and a giant talking plant. Expect to enjoy thrills, chills, and a lot of laughs in “Little Shop of Horrors.”  This musical comedy mingles the fun of do-wop with the mystique of Hollywood’s B-horror movies in a unique combination that was an instant Broadway classic.  And a musical in our May slot will let us sing and dance our way from Skid Row to The Playhouse stage!

Directed & choreographed by Terri Brockmann.  Musical direction by Hannah Blair Butler.

Ken Ludwig’s newest hilarious comedy (author of Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo) is set in 1950’s York, Pennsylvania. When Jack and Leo, down on their luck English actors, learn that a dying millionairess is leaving her fortune to her long lost English relatives, Max and Stephen, they decide to pose as her nephews. But there is a problem. Max and Stephen are Maxine and Stephanie. But that doesn’t deter Jack and Leo. Romantic entanglements ensue as Jack and Leo change back and forth between their female alter egos to enable Leo to woo Meg, another niece, and Jack to romance Audrey, a ditzy waitress. All of this under constant danger of exposure by the local Reverend (engaged to Meg), the Doctor, and Butch, Audrey’s beau.

The classic Broadway backstage musical!

Cole Porter’s Kiss Me, Kate finds a  divorced acting couple (Fred & Lilli) cast opposite each other as Petruchio and Kate in a musical version of Taming of the Shrew in this play-within-a-play musical. This musical comedy set in the 1940’s, offers such favorites as “Another Openin’ Another Show”, “Too Darn Hot”, “Wunderbar,” and “So In Love.” Kiss Me, Kate won the 1948 Best Musical Tony Award and the 1999 Best Revival of a Musical Tony Award. Kiss Me, Kate is a classic musical comedy full of laughs, mistaken identities, big dance numbers, and of course a struggle to keep romance alive.

Directed & choreographed by David Mossey. Musical direction by Amanda Williams

And join us for something extra in our Fall Finale...

(because a good thing is never enough).

Nov 6, 7, 13, 14 at 8pm

A mysterious valet ushers three people into a shabby hotel room. As the door locks behind them, an eternity of damnation lies ahead. What they soon discover is that hell isn’t fire and brimstone at all – it’s other people. Written in 1944, Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit is a tense psychological drama that explores power, confinement, and deception.

Directed by Dan Pivovar
